Rice Fields

 At one time, my Rice Field farm had bamboo trees. I moved the trees to a Chop farm. Not as aestich as this farm once was. 

Halloween

 Farm Town offers new decorations and holiday themed gifts for major events. I have one small farm where most of my remaining Halloween decor is on display. That farm is named "Loco." It is a small farm where I grow Pumpkins which take four days to ripen. When I put a train on this farm, it's engine was Locomotion. I no longer recall why I had to know which farms had which trains. There is a train manager that I used to load, request boast, and upload. 

I had a lot of Halloween stuff on my Flower farm. I used a lot of the decor to create a graveyard. For some unknown reason all the gravestones disappeared, and that farm had a radical transformation. Perhaps it is now the one with the airport, landing stirpe and planes taking off or landing?

Loco

The deep building was one of those unwanted Farm Pass gifts. Likewise, the deep pit. Sold all of these things, except a few skulls. 

Seaside

Seaport 

Cargo ships were loaded and sent to neighbor's ports. Changed name to Port of Long Beach.

Seaside Park 'farm" also went through changes. The Fish Farming Plant got moved to "Mines Farm." Do not think it was originally placed on the beach. The Plant produced fish bait and containers, such as Oyster container. 

I kept the Santa Lighthouse, Statue of Liberty and sold the other decorations. I had shps ~ some Farm Pass giveaways. I had to keep adding seacoasts to catch enough fish for facilities, such as Sushi restaurant. I liked my original seacoast "farms." This not a favorite edition. 

Tourist Trap

 
I loved my Tourist Trap farm. The fields in upper right corner were not part of the original, never changed farm.

Road leading to Tourist Trap entrance, featured school bus class trip and others heading to the attractions. There was a circus, Sports Arena, gift shop, hotel and food places. I would empty out the facilities, to move them to other farms. Factories in the back produced items needed for the shops, such as hats, mascots, jams and nuts. 

Had a lot of fun pretending to be an owner of so many buildings. 

Animal Farm

Had chicken coups, dairy barns, rabbit hutch, wool sheds, on many farms. The Stables cost Farm Cash dollars, so only had one. I had a much nicer horse farm at one time. One of my farms had a zoo. Maybe I took screenshots of those long gone farms saved on a USB thingy. 

Do not know why I save the images. I seldom take a walk in the past to view them. When I am gone,will anyone want to see my "art" creations using game images? 

 

Valentines Day

Moved Valentine's Day stuff to create this image for Facebook post.

I had frozen lake so moved it to LLL winter farm, along with other dollar seacoast and lakes. I moved the Winter Clothing and Winter Decor stores and factories to farm 13. Oversized buildings from Farm Pass. 

Later moved the waterways back to one farm ~ these four could fish twice a day; the others once a day.

I changed farm 13, LLL many times. Sold a lot of decorations when I was quitting Farm Town.

Second Farm Pass coming Dec. 15th

 I have some farm cash. I thought I would stay playing until I got enough to buy something. Mainly $32.  Why buy something when I am quitting? Dunno, but hate to lose the fake cash.

Yikes another Farm Pass? The last time I quit playing was due to that Farm Pass! I guess I was feeling nostalgic when I started playing it again. Does not take long to remember why I quit last time.

When you get points, the Farm Pass gives you something. Like a crop. One needs to spin wheel to see how much one earns. Round and round it goes, as if the amount is not already predetermined. 

Then it stops, then you click to collect, then wait to collect it. I hate that spinning wheel. Also get rewards like oversized houses or mountains. I get rid of stuff to make room to place them. Sometimes I sell them for coins. 

The new pass will run from 15th of this month to 15th of the next. Do I really want to keep playing come 2025? 

Anyway I am now going to do a photo dump.

I do not own rights to images from my games. Doubt I will get in trouble for sharing. 

Farm Pass

 The game has 3 quests. One is a co-operative quest. The other is a daily quest. And a Neighborhood Chains contest. Enter a new feature; the Farm Pass. The Pass gives three goals daily. And longer goals next to them.

Daily Goal: come in number 1 in the Neighborhood Chains contest. Or two, three or 7. Most weeks I could not get to number 7. They had two dollar facilities and wo coins ones. I have very few of the dollar ones. Even when I had one of them, I could not place in #3. Some of my neighbors had all 4 facilities, including the two dollar ones. WTH.

Often my neighbors would post they earned $2.00 (or $1.) on the NC contest, where I came in #5. How can that be? I earned more points than they did. I assume they have different neighbor's than I had. I got rid of neighbors like that, and still did not meet the goal. So stopped playing the NC contest.

I sometimes win $1.00 in the Neighborhood chains. We all get products to make; we check our neighbors to get ingredients needed. I think I got 13 once, $2.00 reward. Games give me dollar facilities to produce or load, so lose that quest.  The Daily quest needs stuff that take 2, 4, 4 days to grow. No thanks. 

But that is not the worst part of the Farm Town Pass. 

Bored

 Bored I started playing Farm Town again. I was hoping to start fresh, and not make the mistakes I made last time. I would not plant flowers and buy dollar facilities that required them! I did not mind spending real cash to buy fake stuff, but after awhile more dollars were required than I cared to spend. Going to a movie might cost $10. so the games were my "going to a movie" expense. But I never went to movies daily or even weekly. 

The game gave me back my same farms, minus some things, like Olive trees. I hated harvesting flowers ~ I only had the equipment that harvested them 9 at a time. So many tools so little Farm Cash dollars. So I played for a while and quit again. How many times? Will add image later from flower farm where I used flowers to spell out the new year. I loved my first flower farm ~ placement of flowers. Know not how many times I changed it.

Ships: load cargo via name of product. One is needed products like flour. That container has flowers. I started selling flowers from the farm. Why waste time harvesting red roses, that I did not have much use for just to sell them at Market?

Neighbors did not load ships. Why? Dunno. It takes less than a minute to load all containers, with maximum 10 clicks. They get lots of product, and $$$ for helping advance the ships to next port. Started ditching neighbors who did not help with ships. 

Read: '"ored people are boring people." Why am I doing this? I forget. Oh, I know. 

Rule of 40

 I had a rule of 40 ~ that is, I would not limit the number of neighbors to 40. Had to add those neighbors as Facebook friends, and I had more game friends than real family/friends. Those Farm Town cheaters pestered Slashkey developers to increase limit on number of neighbors we were allowed. Perhaps the limit had been 100. 

How could one keep up with that many neighbors? They did not. The ones that had to most neighbors never helped with speeding up production, or selling more products. They posted daily, sometimes twice, asking us to help them. At first, I helped all of my neighbors. Then stopped helping those high level players who never reciprocated. Many did not send gifts or requests for ingredients to help those who requested it.

I increased the number of FT neighbors ~ maybe worked my way up to 60, trying to find people who would give help for help given them. Plus to increase the number of gifts. Some needed items, like an Olive tree are available only as gifts.After a while, I started removing the high level neighbors who had lots of neighbors, stacked, layered farms, that did not help me at all.

Then I quit. 

Farm Town

 I started playing Farm Town via Facebook around 2009. It was fun at first. Every month they issued a new farm. I could buy them with farm coins. They added new facilities, and shops. I could buy the coin ones and some farm cash dollar ones. They came up with farm expansions. Early on I learned, via neighbors how to cheat ~ created layered farms. A Slash Key glitch. Slash Key forum frowned upon the practice but did not label it cheating.

They also stacked farms. Farm would have plots for crops; on top of that would be trees; on top of that would be rivers/seacoasts, and on top of that buildings. I layered one farm. Too much work for me. Instead of playing the game by rules, they spent hours creating stacked and layered farms. Those that did this leveled up so fast, I was left way behind. Not that it is a contest, but...

To keep the game interesting, I would try to catch up to the person who was one level above me. Soon people 5 levels below me were passing me by. 

At first I enjoyed playing; I built theme farms. Someone told me "it is like you are telling a story." That is exactly what I was doing using, the houses, and decorations. When I bought my 13 farm, I named it LLL in honor of my daughter born on the 13th of July. I uses snow cover ground and made it all about Christmas ~ she so loves the holiday.

I used the characters to represent family having snowball fight, building snow people, skating. I was a non working farm ~ purely for decor ~ like playing with a doll house. Later I simply became bored with the daily routine, plant crops, harvest, trees, flowers, fishing, to start producing products to put in retail outlets. 

So I quit playing. Time waster.

Octordle

 Octordle is like Wordle but one tries to guess 8 words, instead of one. After playing Wordle before the NT Times took over the game, I removed my bookmark. It got annoying with pop ups asking us to subscribe to the Times. 

I had subscribed to the Times for a while. After trial period was over, the cost to renew was too much for my budget. They offered me a lower price. I declined. I seldom went to the website to read news articles, and games, like Crossword puzzle were not included. 

I realize companies need to make money to keep their companies solvent. Maybe having a million subscribers paying a dollar is better than having 1/4 million, or less paying $20. a month? 

I am thankful there are still free games online. I do miss the old Solitaire games I had on my computer. I do not like the online ones at all.

Tightrope

 Tightrope is a timed trivia game. There are 9 questions; each correct answer earns a letter starting with T to spell out Tightrope. I like TV trivia game shows. 

The Chase, Master Minds, Switch are favorites. Switch was on the same time as Jeopardy. Game Show Network keeps changing time slots. Do not like the Match Game at all; it has replaced Switch's time slot. I used to watch GSN games in the AM. Seldom turn on the TV until late afternoon, when the game shows I liked used to be aired. 

Some days I do great with Tightrope; others I get three wrong and have to start over. Do not know if I will retain newly learned trivia answers, but I enjoy playing the game. 

Blossom

 Blossom has 6 petals, like a daisy, the center circle's letter must be used with the petal letters to form words. Did I used to say I was the queen of four letter words in Scrabble? Or was it three? 

Today's Blossom ~ I had trouble forming four letter words. Surprise myself, when I create longer words, pangrams, even. 

Blossom is the least favorite of new word games I am playing. Perhaps I lack patience trying to use the supplied letters to form words. I want to be done fast, and move on to something easier.

Quit Facebook

 I quit Facebook, now owned by Meta.

I stopped playing Farm Town several times. I am playing again, halfheartedly. Do not need to play via Facebook. SlashKey created a direct link to the game, some time ago.

I have been posting that I was leaving Facebook for months now. I do not like Meta posting on my Feed "People You May Know." 

No, I do not know my distant cousins' best friend's father-in-law. No I do not know my brother's co-workers. And so on.

I do not like Meta showing me "Groups You Might Like." Everyday I would click the three vertical dots and say "Don't show me this again." Since I would check Facebook several times a day, several times a day I clicked: DO NOT SHOW ME THIS AGAIN.

I started removing every known MAGA from my friend's list shortly after November 6th. I kept a few, hoping to irritate them with anti-their dear leader. No, we can not be friends. You voted for a felon, sex offender, liar, crook, traitor rather than the educated, decent, prosecutor. 

I intended to stay on Facebook until Dec. 31, 2024. Did not want to read new Terms of Service starting on Jan. first. Something went wrong; middle of the night insomnia; computer and Google screen wide and flat looking. Hurt my eyes. Cut to chase ~ had a hissy fit, removed all my FB friends, deleted my account without a word. 

Oops. I could have deactivated, so I could go back to clean it up or post a better goodbye. Want to keep in touch? E-mail or snail mail me your address via messenger. C'est la vie. 

Horrified!

 Did not work on Bucket List today. Nor start chores for upcoming apartment inspection. Nor did I cut my fingernails; they seem to have grown overnight. I would have loved this when I was young and still wore nail polish. 

Trying to break Facebook game addiction. Instead of going directly to Facebook, loading Farm Town, when I woke up, I did Wordie. I average 4 tries to get the correct word. Twice it was dumb luck that I got it on the 2nd try. Today it was 5th try. Somedays I do not guess it at all. Why do I keep playing when it just irritates.

Then rather than check Google news headlines, I checked Yahoo news headlines. I decided to stop replying to comments on articles. Instead, I copy comments for my political blog, then add my thoughts.

Oh my, 9:30ish, I needed to get to FT. Luckily I did not plant crops that needed harvesting. I did forget about loading and sending a ship. Why do I keep doing that if I am quitting soon.

Then I jumped back to Yahoo news headlines to read articles I did not get to first go round. More copy comments for blog so I could reply. Now 6PM and I am still sitting in front of computer. I did make breakfast, gave a bad review on No Bake Betty Crocker Cookie Dough Cinnamon Rolls. 

Aside: new Grocery outlet opened in Aharts location. Aharts was my main I can walk to grocery store. The outlet had some bargains. Most was the same as Giant or Weiss markets where my daughter usually takes me. I had to buy butter which I seldom use. Needed a whole stick for the bargain 2 for a dollar Betty Crocker packet. Maybe I did not notice the "edible cookie dough" notation. 

One star rating. "If you love butter topped with tablespoons of sugar, go for it. Did not taste like cinnamon Vanilla flavored glazed topping did not taste like vanilla." I feel bad, later when I ate another butter bite, I tasted the cinnamon. But still butter and sugar overpowered it. Donation to Giant food collection next trip there, goes the 2nd box.

You can see why I am still sitting in front of internet; I start typing and I never stop. Tomorrow. Always tomorrow. 

I also heated up leftover lentil soup for lunch. Made a quick chicken salad with left over chicken. To make matters worse I read some Google news articles. I found a Media Fact Check site that lead me to read more articles, then go to the site's Facebook page to load it, read several more articles. Shared two Memory Halloween photos. Added book I Am Malaya to Goodreads. Person's Halloween costume reminded me. Then I had to search for my Slash costume to post. Took some time to find it.

I was going to stop preaching on my Facebook Timeline, but I had to Like Dangerous Meme on Facebook, scrolled them, then searched and found article explaining why one should not copy/paste, blah, blah. 

I used to say I am easily distracted from my goals. How true. I had to log back on to Yahoo because I could not resist replying to some comments. On and on and I am shutting up.

Bucket List

 Bucket List #1: to update this blog's sidebar links needs to be put on hold. 

Today's list is to do chores before my apartment inspection; vacuum, wash floors, do yesterday's dishers, clean hated glass electric stone top, polish kitchen cabinets, was floors. Clean toilet. Find black nail polish I put away (see Homeless blog, Bed bugs post.) 

I bought a tiny pumpkin after seeing a post on Facebook. Tape a note on bottom and leave on people's doorsteps. My puzzle buddies started exchanging candy gifts. Teresa is no longer here on earth. Brenda is being treated for pancreatic cancer. She also has diabetes. Not good. So I wanted to use polish to paint standard eyes, nose, mouth on her pumpkin.

Have not decided what to write on the note. Get well soon? Not likely to happen. Cheer Up Things Could Be Worse? Oh no, no, no. You are so beautiful? Might work. Thanks for being a friend? Shall see. 

Dragon Mania Legends

I felt like I already wrote about Dragon Mania Legends. When checked to read my posts, I noticed that I did not remove all my side bar links.

While Farm Town was gone, I tried several games. Suggestions from FT playes. Mostly lame. If I wanted to repeatedly click to feed cow, or hens, I would play Crashdown. Crashdown frustrates and motivates me. A good time waster.

I stuck with Dragon Mania Legends, even though I did not like it. Oh, I loved the dragons. Did not like doing battles. And the ads! Buy this now for $2.99. Get this dragon for $9.99. If I intended to stay with the game I would not mind sending developers some cash. But they were throwing ads up over the game frequently. 

Log onto game just to collect gold coins, and food. Not until you see this money grab. See those annoying things flying around under the ad. You Are Making Me Miss Them All!!! I ran out of those flying things once, so try to catch as many as I can click on.

There are no FAQ's. There are things called scrolls that I also do not have. Yet there is no listing as to how many I have stored or how to get more. (other than spend $2.99, $5.99) They list how many of those flying things whose name I do not know, how many coins, how many gems but no scrolls. 

They want me to buy a V.I.P. pass in order to get double rewards. ($4.99) I never remembered or knew how to collect those Pass rewards, and would find 4 or 6 when I clicked on one of those links. They have several white ! or purple something or others over another. Clicking any of those brings up special offers to spend real cash to get. 

I wanted to breed a sunflower dragon. Several attempts got a tree, a plant, another tree, another plant, a leaf. (Ask self: why, you are not staying, yet, I wanted that Sunflower dragon!) The last two times I loaded the game they pop up a "watch video" ~ I did not mind watching a short video; I had even clicked on a link: Watch Video to Earn. No videos available. The videos wanted me to buy stuff to earn game rewards. 

I was actually interested in one item until I clicked link and found out how much the item cost. I will probably find a similar item cheaper for Son's Xmas or Birthday gift somewhere else.

One of those videos so irritated me, I closed the browser. Then removed game from Facebook. Yet I am still tempted to go back and see my dragons again. Do a battle or two. 

Gone Blog

 I did manage to do something on my Bucket List. Removed all my posts from this games blog.

I also removed my sidebar links. I found most of those places either no longer existed. In absence of Farm Town I stumbled upon Puzzability, It is still around but the daily games I used to love to play are no longer available. 

I often say that I am easily distracted from my goals. Why ever am I typing here? Crawdads, crayfish, homeless in Long Beach brought me here to record some nonsense.

I think I need to rename this blog: Bucket List. Start acting like I know my terminal illness can return at anytime, rather than act like there will always be another tomorrow. 

Farm Town

 When Facebook suddenly removed Farm Town, I did not know what to do with myself. Now that it is back, I am at the same point I was when it went bye-bye ~ I have lost interest in the game. Yet, when I wake in the morning, I need something to do that does not require standing or walking. 

Old age, bah, humbug.

I started playing Farm Town in 2009. I stopped playing in 2018. I was bored, so started playing again early 2022. It was a relaxing game; liked to decorate the farms. It got to be one needed too much Farm Cash to keep up with needed tools, to add new facilities and to buy new farms. 

I stopped buying and upgrading farms before I left the game in 2018. I have added some more farms, mainly due to needing more cow barns and hen coups. 

Now Farm Town added a Farm Pass feature. It is much the same as a regular feature of Quartsoft games I stopped playing. I never lasted long playing quest games. FT also has Regular quests, Co-operative quests, daily quests. Truly do not like games that require me to be back at certain times, that require doing tasks I have no interest in doing. 

Farm Pass has some great rewards; Some have a spinning wheel. Wait, while it slowly spins, wait while it slowly throws up colored confetti and your prize amount; then collect the reward. I do not play casino style games. 

I wish Gourmet Ranch was still available.

Anyway, I made a comment about rereading my Homeless in Long Beach blog. Too bad I did not think about that during the week Farm Town was not available.
